Questions with the Artist
Q: How long have you been painting?
A: I am new to professional painting but I have been drawing, sketching, painting, coloring, (etc). since I was a child.
Q: What sets you apart from other Artists?
A: I have a unique style that is different from other Artists. I am a drawer first and a painter second. So, my art tends to lean towards cartoons with black lines. I enjoy painting cartoons as Accurate as possible. Because I am a drawer, I mainly use posca markers for outlines, then fill in with acrylic paint. You can see examples on the Gallery page.
Q: what is your creative process?
A: I throw out some ideas to clients based on what they want. I tend to give most of the creative freedom to the client. I work on making sure it will look good and flow with it’s surroundings.
Q: How do you execute the designs?
A: I usually will print out the design and use it as a reference. I then freehand it and make Corrections as needed.
Q: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
A: Cartoons are definitely my strength. I am good at taking a design and replicating it as close as possible. I tend to struggle with realistic painting and hands.
Q: Are there designs that you can’t/won’t do?
A: Since I am not very good at hyper realistic painting, I tend to steer away from it. If you are looking for realistic people/art, I would recommend searching the many talented artists in the Treasure Valley. You are more than welcome to pitch me your ideas and I will let you know if that is something i can do.
Q: How long do the designs take to create?
A: it really depends on multiple factors but for reference, I have estimated examples below. Factors like blending and layering make the process longer due to drying times. I tend to take longer on my pieces then the average person because of how detail oriented i am, plus the fact that i use posca markers for outlines.
